Photographing in slum areas, taking pictures of garbage collectors or beggars, makes you feel torn: how can these people be portrayed as dignified as possible? What should be communicated – the brutal and oppressive poverty or a way of shaping life with few means? How can you portray these people not just as mere victims of their fate?
