„Art is identity“
…, says Prof. Ozioma Onuzulike, Professor for African Studies at the University of Nigeria. Indeed, I encountered art in numerous variations on site, such as the wooden sculptures inspired by traditional Igbo carvings by Dr. Chijioke Onuora, the theater pieces by Prof. Nnanna Nbuidisi and Greg Mbajiorgu, and the internationally presented thread curtains made of local materials by Onuzulike himself.
But also fashion design and graffiti deal strongly with cultural identity, often with pan-African motifs.
