Portrait of a middle Character
A „middle character“ is how Stefan Zweig described Marie-Antoinette – not as the callous hedonist she entered history as. But her cliché stands for the present like hardly any other figure: the addiction to pleasure, in the face of war, climate crisis, inflation and fear of the future. The current boom in kitsch, the form of expression that unites us in feeling and yet allows us to enjoy the status quo individually, also fits in with this. The series was created purely digitally.
